If you are looking to improve your smile and increase your confidence then we have a specialist orthodontist and team of cosmetic dentists in our dental clinic in Croydon that will help to correct your misaligned teeth.

Ask us about Six Month Smiles that delivers you a smile you will love to flash at everyone in just 6 months. Or perhaps you would like one of the new invisible braces systems like Invisalign or Damon braces. We also do short-term lingual orthodontics, where the braces are placed on the inside surface of the teeth, making them completely invisible.

What is Six Month Smiles?

Six Month Smiles uses tooth coloured brackets and wires to create tooth coloured braces which can move teeth rapidly, typically in about six months… Hence the name!

Before and after tooth coloured braces

How do these teeth braces work so fast?

The system is able to move teeth quickly because we usually only focus on the cosmetically important front teeth. Front teeth have less of a complex root system than back teeth, this means they are easier to move in a shorter period of time.

Do orthodontic braces hurt?

You shouldn’t find that your tooth braces hurt however you may find them  slightly uncomfortable, especially for a couple of days after sitting or after each appointment when they are adjusted. In order to move teeth we need to apply pressure to them  in the desired direction, this pressure can sometimes feel a little uncomfortable for a couple of days.

Are Six Month Smiles better than Train Track braces?

Conventional fixed orthodontics generally considered as the best way to move teeth, it gives your orthodontist the widest range of options to move front teeth and back teeth for cosmetic appearances and to adjust the way your teeth bite together.

Not all of the brackets and wires used in conventional train track braces can be made tooth coloured as in Six Month Smiles, this means that if you have teeth which require a lot of movement, back teeth which don’t bite together properly or a complex bite then conventional braces may be the best option for you.

Will I need a retainer after treatment with these braces?

After any orthodontic tooth movement  it is recommended that you have a retainer. Very typically this is a removable nighttime retainer for the top teeth and a permanently fitted in retainer which is bonded to the inside of your lower teeth.

These treatments take much less time to work than the traditional braces methods allowing you to remove your invisible braces to eat and clean them or for that special occasion. The way of moving the teeth is different too meaning you will have that lovely smile in no time at all.
