Common questions about Invisalign
Will Invisalign work for me?
Invisalign is primarily aimed at treating cosmetic dental problems, particularly with the front teeth. Invisalign is suitable for both top teeth and bottom teeth. So long as your teeth and gums are healthy then Invisalign will normally work for you.
Will Invisalign fix an overbite?
Invisalign can fix and overbite however, if your teeth stick out considerably without any spaces then extractions of back teeth may be required in order to make room to pull the front teeth backwards. Only a consultation would be able to tell you if this is required.
What’s better, Invisalign or braces?
If you want straighter teeth with clear braces then Invisalign is probably the system for you. However, conventional orthodontics using fixed braces may be able to treat more complex teeth straightening problems, including biting problems with the back teeth.
Will I need an Invisalign retainer?
Once treatment is completed with Invisalign you will normally be required to wear a retainer, often a removable nighttime retainer. This is to keep your teeth in their final position as they may have a tendency to move if a retainer is not warn.
Does Invisalign work?
Yes. Invisalign works with dramatic results to move your teeth to the ideal location. However, you need to wear your Invisalign clear braces for at least 20 hours per day removing them only to clean and eat. Instances where Invisalign does not work is usually down to not wearing braces for the required amount of time.
How much is Invisalign?
Invisalign treatment cost varies depending upon the severity of your clinical situation. This will vary the length of treatment as well as the number of aligners required. This means the only way to get a true cost of Invisalign is to come for a consultation where the length of treatment and aligner number can be assessed. Treatment typically starts from £1650.
